The hottest projection mapping you'll see...

When Sports Illustrated wanted to launch the 50th swimsuit edition, they certainly went BIG! Seventeen incredible models travelling to all seven continents to gather some of the most amazing footage you’ve ever seen.

Go2 modelled the entire side of Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas so it could be turned into a projection surface 360 feet wide and 141 feet high.

Techniques used: Projection Mapping, 3D Animation
Client: Sports Illustrated

Overview

During the 5-minute presentation, the audience was taken on a journey to far-flung places around the world where the Sports Illustrated team had performed incredible photo shoots and captured amazing footage. In total, they had accumulated over 1TB of footage. Go2 was tasked with editing the footage down to just 5 minutes and was given clear instructions on how to do so.

The Results:

In addition to the video edit, we also created a spectacular set of animations that complemented the footage and reflected the locations of each photo shoot. Go2 designed a model of the entire side of Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, which was used as a projection surface measuring 360 feet wide and 141 feet high. Some scenes were enhanced with big transitions and irreverent humour to align with the Sports Illustrated brand.

The entire event was live-streamed across the web on SI.com, SwimDaily.com, People.com, Time.com, EW.com and Instyle.com.
