BCIT

"It all starts with an idea..."

BCIT is one of BC’s largest post-secondary institutions, offering courses and programs in technology, trades, engineering and more. They were sponsors of the 2016 BC Tech Summit – a massive event that showcased some of BC’s best new ideas and developments in tech and wanted a short video that incorporated some of their popular courses in a creative way that they could show to young attendees. Go2 has been hired to produce an animated video that will effectively communicate the message of BCIT.

Techniques used:
Client: BCIT

Overview

The video was aimed at young adults and prospective students interested in BCIT’s programs. Therefore, the creative approach had to be engaging and modern, while highlighting some of the essential courses and programs offered by BCIT. To achieve this, we opted to use mixed media, including motion graphics and a whiteboard style to tell the client’s story.

We decided to take the viewer on a journey of a creative designer – in this case, a game developer – and showcase all the different skills needed in the creative industry and how BCIT could teach you every one of those skills.

The Result:

Go2 was able to produce a 2-minute video that was engaging, memorable, and entertaining, thanks to a strong storyline. BCIT was extremely happy with the results. An animated video can be highly versatile. It can be humorous and informative and include a call to action and instructions. By using motion graphics, we built our narrative around the message and used interesting visuals and metaphors to communicate the story effectively.
