Tommy Hilfiger – 3D Projection Mapping, 3D Animation & Projection Mapping

client: Tommy Hilfiger   agency: Laird Creative   event production: Pearl Media   3D animation/VFX: Go2 Productions

3D projection mapping is the latest trend for brand awareness and all sorts of high impact visual entertainment events. The modern ‘fireworks of today’ are dynamic, engaging and extremely entertaining, gaining brands of today extreme amounts of exposure through social media outlets such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.

For the opening of the new Tommy Hilfiger flagship store, in West Hollywood, we created dynamic building transitions that made use of the buildings big blocky architecture.  Because the projections were intended to go almost to the very edge of the building, we maximized the illusion of depth by pushing the blocks further into the building. The result was an exaggerated feeling of depth, given the illusion that the blocks really were pushing out from the surface of the building.

The animation was designed in a way that reflected the irreverence and playfulness of the Tommy Hilfiger brand, tying in very tightly with the brands sound track heard in the video.  Additional 3D models were created and animated throughout the sequence to tie in with the video content.
