How to get more business using web video

August 18th, 2011

If you have a business then one of your primary goals is to reach more customers… The best way of doing this today is to have a web video. Demonstrate your products, explain processes, engage and educate the audience far quicker than having them trawl through a text heavy website. In addition you should allow viewers to share your video via the social networks, spreading your message world wide. With the right message and video production, this can happen extremely fast.

Web video has enormous SEO benefits. From posting a handful of motion graphic or 3d animation product videos onto your website, to leveraging your company’s own YouTube channel and building out your brand, the power of video is growing at a staggering rate and too many organizations are missing out.

That’s how we can help you attract more customers and get more business.

Then give us a call (1 866 408 5844) or use the quote request form on our home page, to find out how we can help you create a compelling video production for your organization.

Fact:

YouTube now accounts for more than 80% of all embedded and linked web videos, followed by Vimeo at just 8.8%.  2 Billion YouTube videos are watched per day, that translates to 23,000 videos watched per second!

In a recent SundaySky report, nearly 18 percent of the major search engine results pages during the first quarter of 2011 contained video results.

Points Phone Guard Breakdown

May 26th, 2011

Points Phone Guard is a service that prevents your mobile device from being hacked. Our client wanted to create a commercial that conveyed this in a humorous   scenario. To begin this we created the PPG character, a mobile phone with a life of its own.

Extensive pre-visualisation was the key to this spot for Points Phone Guard. With a nod to The Matrix, the special agent character was filmed in our green screen studio in six separate poses at various distances to camera, then composited together to appear as if the poses were in the same space. The three backgrounds were made up of elements from different photographs, brought into Photoshop for additional clean-up. Camera shake was tracked from live-action handheld footage onto the scenes. The 3D phone was modelled in Cinema 4D by lead artist Joe Surachet with eye movements controlled in After Effects. Final passes for lighting details, 2D shadows, motion blur and colour correction helped seal the illusion.

Oh by the way, the guy that gets tackled in the super market scene is actually our creative director Adrian Scott. lol.

Globe Union Realistic 3D Rooms

May 3rd, 2011
This is a little excerpt from a full DVD we did for Globe Union, state of the art  bath, shower and sink furniture. We needed to do the whole project in 3D to achieve the level of quality we wanted. This also allowed us to be very creative in the presentation of the products and rooms.
A total of 3 realistic rooms were constructed inside a full 3D house, kitchen, bathroom and powder room. The whole DVD will be placed on this page next month once complete.
Enjoy.

386 Fuel Saver TVC15

April 26th, 2011

Getting paid to do what you love, that’s the idea, i am sure you agree. We have always wanted to do a car based commercial, strangely enough, this concept started out as an in house 3D animation project between some of our artists. A client saw the work in progress on our demo reel and liked it so much that they asked if we could take it further for them to use as a finished TV commercial, of course we happily said yes.

We spent a couple of weeks texturing every element to a realistic level and building the tunnel and exterior environment, we then created a dramatic camera move for the cars approach that passed under the car, over the hood and then hanging back as the car exits the tunnel and continues on its way. The intention with this camera move was to have any frame in the tunnel scene look and feel like a glossy graphic novel image if you were to stop the commercial on any frame.

Everything was built, textured and animated in Cinema 4D. With the 15 second commercial only having one camera move, rendering using Global Illumination became an issue. After a whole week battling with unsuccessful Global Illumination render settings that were demanding 60+ hours of render time we decided to eliminate Global Illumination all together and adjusted the lighting set up in the scene so we did not need to rely on Global Illumination for a realistic look. After we did this we got the render time down to just 6 hours using our render farm and the realistic quality we were looking for.

We then spent a day adjusting colours in the tunnel scene to achieve graphic novel look we were going for. Both we and the client were very happy with the result.

Sunshine Coast Health, Scene Breakdown

April 25th, 2011

Here is the breakdown for the Sunshine Coast Health Centre TV Commercial we did called Living in Denial.

Sunshine Coast Health Center is a fully licensed residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation program that includes addiction counselling, education, therapies for the mind/body/spirit, exercise, nutrition, and off-site recreation.
SCHC asked us to concept a series of 15 second TV Commercials and a combined 30 second TV Commercial, that would bring awareness to their services on alcohol addiction.
During our research we found that a large percentage of people living with partners addicted to alcohol actually live in denial of the problem also, until it becomes too much for them and they too either breakdown, take action or receive intervention.
Although a majority of alcoholics attending SCHC are cases of intervention, there is also a substantial percentage that are self admitted, our client wanted us to keep this in mind when we created the spots.
In order to reach as many people as possible with the concept, we decided to not focus so much on the addict, instead we focussed on the spouse, in this case a thirty something wife and how alcoholism can be a problem not only for the addict, but for the whole family. We decided to call the concept ‘Living in Denial’.
In this concept we see two old friends, Sally and Julie, meeting in a coffee shop catching up on what’s been going on in their lives over the past year or so… We join them mid conversation shortly after they sat down. Sally asks how Julie and her husband are getting on, with a knowing but hopeful look on her face.
Julie, who is used to making excuses for her husbands situation and behavior, answers in a nervous and uncomfortable manner, shifting in her seat and darting her eyes; “Oh you know we are always doing things as a family.”
The edit then cuts quickly to a colder scene of the memory that Julie actually has in mind. Hence, Living in Denial.
The spot continues through a few scenarios of this nature until we finally see Julie breakdown to her friend and admit the reality that she is only covering for her husband and that he really needs professional help.
Powerful acting, atmospheric sound effects, intense visual effects and strong colour grading, really make the scenes feel cold and harsh, portraying the emotions and seriousness of the situation we were trying to convey.

The whole spot was shot entirely in our green screen studio, all the background plates, cafe, living room, kitchen etc are 3D elements, designed and built in Cinema 4D using global illumination and VRay. We composited the scenes and produced the visual effects and colour grading using After Effects.

Sprott Shaw – Healthcare TVC30

March 17th, 2011

Long time client Sprott Shaw Community College returns for another series of TV commercials. This time the concept brief was to have images on a newspaper shown as video clips, leading the viewer through enrolment, graduation and getting a job.

The green screen commercials, a total of 3, were all shot in one day at our studio using real students. 3D environments were designed and built for the backgrounds and a multitude of compositing techniques were used to place footage into the newspaper. Motion graphics and visual effects were then added to finish the spots. We also remixed the well known jingle once more

This is the Healthcare Spot, the other two will be posted here next week.

March 17th, 2011

Toovio was founded by a group of real-time marketing consultants with extensive experience in enterprise marketing and decision management platforms.
It is a cloud based solution using a proprietary approach to pull highly focused, non-sensitive customer data to reduce costs and limit complexity.

Haley Vines Outdoor Collection

January 18th, 2011

The Haley Vines Outdoor Collection caters to Real Outdoor Women. They strive to empower the woman who braves the cold and scales the mountain in pursuit of the ultimate trophy. Their clothing range is the most technical women’s hunting apparel on the market today.

The client wanted us to show various outfits through the commercial without it looking like a catalogue shoot. Their clothing is very different so they wanted the commercial to reflect that too. The commercial is going to be shown in cinemas so it also had to have impact.

We came up with the concept of having a girl dancing through the commercial from activity to activity and as she danced between each pose, the clothing would change respectively. From hiking to hunting, snowboarding to sport fishing and so on. We chose local dancer and physical entertainer Dianna David for the role of the dancer. She was great fun to work with.

All the backgrounds are original motion graphic elements and 3D. Dianna was shot multiple times wearing different outfits on green screen, then edited together in final cut pro and blended using after effects.
