Corporate videos are a great way for companies to show off what their organization is all about, either for shareholders, employees, or the general public. However, filming and creating your video can quickly become expensive. Here are four ways we recommend can save money on your next corporate video.
1. Keep it simple
A great corporate video doesn’t need to be complex; it just needs to deliver your message, be engaging, and most importantly, be understood.
2. Animation is far more cost-effective than live action
In most cases, motion graphics or animated video content is far more cost effective than live action, especially if you plan to make future updates and additions. Reshooting live action scenes means rehiring a full production team and actors, who may or may not have changed their appearance.
Alternatively, motion graphics allows you to easily change and update your corporate video as your product evolves, saving you time and money. Here’s an example of a piece we originally produced in January 2012 and updated in January 2013 for a fraction of the cost.
3. Choose quality over length
We believe that most corporate messages should be delivered within 60 to 90 seconds. Longer scripts translate to higher costs and more post-production time. Motion graphics require animation and visual effects, which take hours for an artist to complete.
A good scriptwriter should be able to explain most corporate messages clearly and concisely. Our advice? Don’t say too much. Say exactly what’s needed and not a sentence more.
4. Choose the right creative team
Getting your corporate message right should be a high priority for your business; the video is something that will represent your company to your audience and bring in more money. If you’re serious about making the right video, you need the right creative team to get the job done.
