Four Ways to Save Money on Your Next Corporate Video

July 03 2014

Corporate videos are a great way for companies to show off what their organization is all about, either for shareholders, employees, or the general public. However, filming and creating your video can quickly become expensive. Here are four ways we recommend can save money on your next corporate video.

1. Keep it simple

A great corporate video doesn’t need to be complex; it just needs to deliver your message, be engaging, and most importantly, be understood.

2. Animation is far more cost-effective than live action

In most cases, motion graphics or animated video content is far more cost effective than live action, especially if you plan to make future updates and additions. Reshooting live action scenes means rehiring a full production team and actors, who may or may not have changed their appearance.

Alternatively, motion graphics allows you to easily change and update your corporate video as your product evolves, saving you time and money. Here’s an example of a piece we originally produced in January 2012 and updated in January 2013 for a fraction of the cost.

3. Choose quality over length

We believe that most corporate messages should be delivered within 60 to 90 seconds. Longer scripts translate to higher costs and more post-production time. Motion graphics require animation and visual effects, which take hours for an artist to complete.

A good scriptwriter should be able to explain most corporate messages clearly and concisely. Our advice? Don’t say too much. Say exactly what’s needed and not a sentence more.

4. Choose the right creative team

Getting your corporate message right should be a high priority for your business; the video is something that will represent your company to your audience and bring in more money. If you’re serious about making the right video, you need the right creative team to get the job done.

Your success is our success. We work with you to ensure your production turns out exactly the way it should by using s collaborative and highly professional approach with an award winning creative team.

3 Things to Consider when Choosing a Video Production Company

May 27 2014

Video Production Company

Choosing a video production company should not be taken lightly, after all, the quality of your videos is a direct reflection of your product and business. Before you make any final choices, you should consider the following three questions:

1. Do their videos engage you?
Do you find yourself watching their videos all the way to the end even if you’re not interested in the subject matter? A good video production studio knows how to keep you engaged and entertained regardless of the subject. Storytelling, especially about a product or a service, is a practiced art form, requires special skills and great systems in place.

2. How long have they been in business?
Don’t be afraid to ask this question. An established production company with a good history is one that makes their clients happy, has repeat customers, and is consistently learning new techniques. Many video production startups spring up, only to fail a few months or a year later, usually because their productions are low quality and their clients are unhappy. Going for the lowest bid might be tempting, but having a substandard video won’t do you any favours in the long run.

3. Who are their clients?
What type of clientele is the video production company familiar with? Having an idea of whom they have worked for in the past can give a good indication of what the company is most experienced in. Try to find companies that have a wide range of clients; from non-profit organizations to high-tech companies alike! This shows the production company is flexible creating content in many industries.

Go2 Brings Experiential Technology to TELUS Event

May 02 2014

We’ve all played a game of concentration, and now Go2 Productions has brought the classic game to corporate events – for a fun and memorable experience for guests.

Go2 has created the TELUS Critters Memory game for “You make the difference”, a recent company event. To play, users had to quickly match pairs of TELUS animals on an interactive screen while avoiding a “lemon” tile that would instantly disqualify them. The ten best times of the night were recorded on a scoreboard next to the game.

Why did it work?

The game was a huge success because it was competitive. The high score table encouraged the guests to continue playing to beat their colleagues throughout the event. The fact that all the images were made up of TELUS animals made the game approachable and gave it a personalized touch.

The game was also highly visual and encouraged bystanders to watch people play. This made the game very entertaining to both watch and play. As a result, the game was very popular the entire night.

To see the game in action at the TELUS event, take a look at the video below.

TED in Vancouver March 17th – 21st 2014

March 13 2014

Vancouver is abuzz about all things TED, we are beyond thrilled to have such a fantastic and forward thinking conference in our home city.  Ideas Worth Spreading is what it’s all about and there are many historical firsts happening this year for TED.

1. It’s the first time the main TED conference has been held outside of it’s regular home in California, though TED Global has been held in Europe, Africa and India before.

2. It’s the first time the conference will be live streamed to the public in the host city. The talks will be screened on the Jumbotron at the Terry Fox Plaza on Beatty St (right at the east end of Robson St). Let’s hope the weather stays nice as it’s open to the elements – bring your umbrellas, toques and warm clothing just in case.  The plaza is close to Stadium/Chinatown skytrain station (Beatty St entrance) and parking is available at 620 Beatty St or 500 Beatty St.

3. It’s the first time libraries and educational facilities can apply to live screen the event too. Make sure to check with your school, university or local library to see if they are taking part.

Go2 was very happy to sponsor a local TEDx event in 2013: TEDxRenfrewCollingwood.  We worked with their lovely designers Lisa Edwards and Jasmine Chin and created stage visuals inline with their SteamPunk theme.  We also assisted Jon Juan with video editing the talks for their YouTube channel.
